Approved after 2x recon for Amazon Rewards card

My stats: EQ 679, TU 691. Aaoac = 7 months (8 month Bofa secured, 6 month cap one).

I applied for the Amazon rewards card today by Chase. When I applied online, I got the "30 day" message. An hour later called the recon number I found on here, spoke to a grumpy lady and got declined due to limited credit history. She said they typically want 1.5-2 years of history.

Two hours later, I thought I'd try again. I've seen others here do multiple recons with success so I thought I should try it too. Lo and behold, I got approved! I basically was upfront about my limited credit history (knowing that from the first call) and was super polite, and I guess it helped.

Got me approved for $500 - it's not much but now I have 3 cards and I'll be in the garden for a while to build up my score for next 6-8 months.

When you get your card why don't you recon for a larger CL.  As long as it a SP it doesn't hurt to give it a shot you won't know til you try.  Congrats by the way.

I was also approved in the same way last month. Learned from the forum about recon and benefitted from the same. Chase Amazon card comes with $50 Amazon GC which was added bonus. I also plan to garden till end of year.

That's a good idea - I'll do that as soon as I receive the card. I'll update this thread when I do.
