Having spent 10 years in Amex's doghouse after burning them in a Ch 7 BK in December of 2012, I'm always a little excited when I get a new approval from them these days. I started with an Amex Gold last summer, then added a Delta Skymiles Gold in the fall which only offered me a paltry $1,000 SL. Plan to product change the Gold before the next AF, but the SUB on that one and my wife's has more than paid for our family's trip to Toronto later this year (in first class 
).
Decided over the weekend to check their pre-qual site for the Skymiles Platinum and got the approval message. Also got a bonus on the SUB upping it from 50k miles to 80k miles. Decided to accept and found that they offered me a more respectable SL this time of $10k. Now we just have to start putting those companion passes to use to help offset the AF, but I'm happy with the current Amex card situation in my personal portfolio.
