Approved for Amex Platinum!

This is my 3rd Amex card I applied for the Blue Cash Preferred back in February. I thought the 6% cash back on grocery would be sweet. However, at this point I'm not interested in cash back anymore I'm all about the miles and points now. I'll be cancelling this card January, 2015.

I applied for the Hilton HHonors Surpass just a few weeks ago. Already met the spending requirement and I'll use this card for gas and grocery since I like Hilton points since those are the only properties I stay at.

My Platinum card I'll use for everything else

If a merchant doesn't take Amex, then I'll use either my Barclaycard Arrival or Cap1 Venture as a back up.

I'll be going to London and Germany in July, so the Amex Platinum will be nice to use where Amex is accepted I have a feeling I'm going to run into quite a few places that say they won't take it. I've been doing a little research today and I guess London won't be as bad for being told no, but I fear Germany will be a less than 50% acceptance rate with my Amex card.

Does anyone have any experience with Amex Platinum in London and Germany?

Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?
