BBVA ClearPoints Approval - 15 Months Post BK7

DW and I both got pre qual mailers on the same day last week for BBVA Compass ClearPoints card. I decided to pull the trigger and the application went into review. The following day got the approval email. SL of 2K. I was hoping for a little more but hey when you have a BK so fresh on your report, you can't really complain. They pulled EX. Here are some DP's.

BK7 discharge - Feb 2018

EX FICO8 - 675

EX Inquiries -    12 months - 2,  24 months - 3

New accts -       12 months - 2,  24 months - 7 (5 revolvers and 2 installments)

AAoA - 6 years

AoOA - 17 years

AoYA - 5 months

Interestingly, before I submitted the application, I wanted to check on their online prequal page what kind of credit limit they would give me since they seem to show possible credit limits with their prequals. But it kept giving me an error that this card wasn't available in my state (CA). Not sure if that was a problem with their online prequal tool, or if it's a by-invitation-only card in CA.

The invite bypasses the restrictions.  Pre-qual after you have an account setup with them is possible though.

Only Available in Alabama, Florida, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, California, and New Mexico

Where is their prequal? I have a checking account with them but cant figure out where to look to check any prequal.

There isn't a pre-qual as so much as there's a way to find out what they will give you w/o fully applying.

login, hit add product, select a CC, fill in the info on the SP screen, submit, and they'll either display the info or the denial w/ scores.

If you get the SP info with the CL/APR displayed then there's a confirm / apply option before it's finalized/HP'd.

Also, it's not a blanket pre-qual... you have to try it on each card they offer to get the results.  

You can also do it from the phone app the same way.

Found it in one of the posts here from last year. Again it gives an error that the product is not available in CA even though CA is within their service area. So not sure if anyone has really been able to use this link to get prequalifed.

Interesting, CO is not working either. I guess that tool is broken?
