I developed a banking relationship with BCU a couple of years ago when they were the FOTM and moved my primary checking & savings over to them. I opened up a BCU Cash Rewards Card with a $25K limit and a $25K PLOC same day. A year later I took out a auto loan for $65K. Today I took them up on a elevated offer to open a BCU Travel Rewards + card for 70K welcome bonus points. I received a instant approval for a starting line $35K and the rep (which was awesome btw.) said if I wanted he could up the limit to $50K. Even though AMEX gets majority of my spend, by far BCU has gave me everything I've ever wanted, plus some. Just wanted to share my story, thanks for reading.

Congrats!
(Though personally I think the card is kind of a turd for the AF given the lack of benefits and category caps)
BCU is super friendly and generous if your profile fits. I have the prior 2% Travel Rewards card with a 100k limit as of today that I'm not planning on getting rid of any time soon.

Thank you. I will agree, the rewards and the category caps are lacking somewhat, but for 70K points for $95 I will hold it for a year and give it a shot. Nice limit on your Travel Rewards card btw!

Were you ever asked for POI, from joining the CU till for each card? If so, what kind of POI? I don't think any lender could give this much credit line without substantial income.....Tnx

BCU requested POI the day I joined and applied for my first credit card, but with that they also gave me the PLOC with only 1 HP. They did request POI also for the auto loan because it was over 365 days after my first loan they said. This card was instant approval the rep said, even though it has been over 365 since the last requested POI, underwriting didn't request anything from me this time. The only kind of POI they have ever asked me for was my last paycheck stub.
Congratulations!
Does the "B" in BCU mean anything? I guess it's safe to assume the CU part = credit union..

Thank you. Yes, the "B" in BCU is for Baxter. Baxter Credit Union.
Very nice. Congrats on your approval.

So, pretty much they asked for POI each and every time except once. You never asked for CLI, right? I don't see any option to request CLI, unless its not available for me and that I would need to contact customer service for that....Don't know if if its worth asking for CLI with a HP, or just apply for another card with them when HP would be there anyway.....

How long have u had your card ? requesting a CLI is easy in the App click on card services scroll down its right under balance transfer. I have been a member with them for 2 years. When i first joined and got my first card with them they asked for POI since then they havent. between my two credit cards and PLOC i have $60K with them and my auto refinance is with them to they have been great.
