May some have read here about my past issues with BOFA back from 1996 when I was 18.

I read here a lot how great their cards grow so applied for the regular BANKAMERICA card and was denied.

I was counter offered with a $300/$500 Secured Card offer, which offended me, since all 3 scores are above 700.

Anyways, I accepted the offer once it came in the mail as I declined the offer online.

Got the card yesterday and realized that my card is 100% just a secured card with no $500. The limit is just the $300 I sent in and to top it off, they deducted $39 for an annual fee.

I need to read things better.

I feel like I’m starting to build credit all over again.

Past mistakes with BOFA or not, I am far beyond secured cards and would not have accepted this offer.

I also love how the card says there are no rewards or any bonuses associated with it.

I only had one card left with an AF and that’s my Merrick. Now I’m doing it to myself again.

Oh, well. You live, you learn.

Does this bring down my chances of nice limit increases in the future such as those who got the $99/$500 offers?

If so, I’ll call and cancel.

I appd in branch end of July for the Cash Rewards and was countered with the $99/$500 with cash rewards. As far as I'm concerned, I thought that was fair given my EX at the time was only 627. A few more months and I anticipate it graduating with a CLI. I just look at the $99 as a savings at this point. The card is a builder, and I use it a few times a month gas, groceries etc. I get 3% gas, 2% groceries and 1% everything else.

so so it's secured. Use it a lot, PiF, and as long as your profile is improving, they can insecure in as little as 5-6 months...   It's the best secured card out there, well, maybe that and discover... But the potential it has is awesome

Oh call them. They may be able to add rewards to it. Some people have had luck.. But, I had them PC mine when it unsecured

Shocking with your scores but now that you've got it, use the hell out of it and they will reward you. Dv
