Beat me Lol
Ooh sh*** I didn't even see or notice those disclosures!!! Where they be hiding it at smh, I guess I got the Platinum. Explains why they be sticking this $1k limit to ma face smh...
No one is sticking you with anything. You got the account for which you qualified - You do not have to keep it. One of the VERY good things about Barclays is that they are like the GEMB of banks cards - They are consistent and generous with CLI and CL reallocations. I have gotten a $1200 -2500 auto CLI on my Barclays at least every 6 months - This is an account that certainly can grow with you. You can give it a year - and with two or more auto increases - get to World Master Card status - or at that time - apply for a World MC - which you might have a better chance of getting - and then combine the CLs. This is exactly how I went from an initial CL of $1500 - on a Platinum card to $18,400 on a World card in just over two years.
Congrats!

Is that all from Auto CLI's? impressive! Also, just to clarify, you started with a platinum, and then they upgraded you to World? I recently called and requested the world, and they (of course, we know "they" are not always right) told me, after putting me on hold to check with a supervisor, that the only way to get upgraded to world, was to reapply for a new card. I would love clarification on this, just so I know the actual truth, and do not spread wrong information. Thanks in advance.
Id try recon, just be aware they will prob do another HP.

TatorTodd -
Most of it is - I will recount as best as I can remember
US Airways / Arrival Platinum Card-
Jan 2012 - Approved for US Airways Platinum - I too was not eligible for the one with the 40,000 bonus miles - I think my CL was $1000 or so, but I did call in and received two CLI before gettng the card. When it arrived it had a $3500 CL -
About 8 months later - I received an auto $1200 CL increase - Maybe it took 8 months because I already had two before even getting the card. I received an auto CLI every 6 months afterward
Sept 2013 PCed to the Arrival Platinum - At the time I had a $6200 - I was not eligible for the upgrade to World - and had to keep the original Platinum terms. And yes, I too was told to apply. They would NOT budge on that, and I called for a few weeks trying to get them to.
I did the PC in the first place because I really did not think I would get approved for the World.
Feb 2014 auto increase to $8400
$1000 - $8400 in two years on that card - Except for recon. calls - all increases were auto.
Arrival World MC
Oct 2013 Finally pulled the trigger - Approved for $7500. I called to find out if I could combine the CLs and was told that I could without any problems. Because I knew there was an auto CLI pattern of 6 months on my other card - I waited to see if I would get the auto CLI in Feb on the Platinum - which I did - and then an auto CLI on the World in April - which I did. That one was for $2500 - bringing the World MC to $10,000.
April 2014 - I combined the two cards - and closed the first one with the higher interest rate - That is how I got one Arrival World Card with a CL of $18,400.
