I planned to apply for Ring in 2017. Barclay had given me recent APR reductions and CLI's on both of my current Barclaycards, so I felt encouraged to try at this time.
Instant decline online. First recon, gentleman was super nice but stated too many accounts in past year. Most of these were last July but Barclay still looks at the last full year. I asked him about moving 1k to open Ring and he stated he was sorry, but he really couldn't do that.
Feeling pretty dejected, I figured that I would not recon again. Spoke with CC and asked his opinion. He encouraged me on 2nd recon (thank you very much, CC!)
I really don't think I would have done 2nd recon without CC's encouragement, as I felt a little spooked by ddemari's post yesterday and reluctant to ask again.
Called this AM and talked to WONDERFUL rep Cassie, who asked me " how much would you like me to move to open the Ring?"
Yay!
(edited) I made several calls and over the course of the next few days, moved limits from Rewards and Apple and closed out both of those cards. My new credit limit for Ring is now $12,500! woohoo!
I am SO thrilled I can 't even tell you. Super excited!

Congratulations humu!! Glad it all worked out for you. You were super freaked yesterday. LOL. Ring is a great card!
Thank you, baller4! Seeing ddemari's post yesterday right after my Ring denial concerned me that by applying for Ring, and then calling for reconsideration, that I had drawn unneeded attention to my accounts.
I also definitely want to thank baller4 for encouraging words about what Barclay likes to see yesterday, and for being very reassuring. Thank you baller4! You are terrific! ![]()

Thank you, odd_dog. I was concerned that I wasn't in the strongest position for recon due to a recent balance transfer to another card, but it all worked out well. I am really interested in the Ring community and their influence on aspects of the card, as well as the low interest rate, so this card will be a good match. ![]()
Barclay has treated me well - just got my Rewards down to 16.24% recently and they told me to call again in 4-6 months for another possible APR redux on that one.
Then again, with Ring's low APR, I may not even need it.
congrats, job well done !!!!
