Well last week I decided to see if i could get a limit increase online, Rewards mastercard sitting at $750. Got the "my request needed further review and should get an answer within 48 hours" message. Sure enough two days later I get a call that my request was denied. Lady cited my account was new, opened in May 2014, and I had a bunch of new accounts, the most recent was opened in August 2014 with no balances on those except the Walmart store card which I'm taking advantage of a no interest offer.
Today I decided to call the backdoor number rep asked me the usual questions. I had carried a balance of $500 for a month, I know high for such a low limit but I paid it down before submitting my first cli request. He said he needed to look at my file and put me on hold. I was sweating bricks and he came back and mentioned my bankruptcy of 2008 and I explained why it happened and then he said he couldn't give me the limit I had requested, $2500, but he could do $1500. He told me to keep doing what I have been doing and try again a couple months from now and maybe I can double my new limit.
I just got in the rebuilding process last year so I don't have high limits and this will be my highest limit.

Congratulations on the increase and new highest card limit! Do you know if they did a hard pull to give you your increase? Either way, fantastic to get an increase after initially getting denied.

I didn't even asked if it would result in another hard pull, the original request was a hard pull but I'm going to assume it was another hard pull. I'll know tomorrow for sure. I only had one inquiry on transunion before the original request so not really worried about that and now that I had my line increased it was worth it since it seemed like I wasn't going to get any auto increase any time soon.
