Do it now. I was approved for $1,900 and immediately recon'd to $3,500. 

I mentioned that I just so happened to have a Chase Freedom with 0% and a $3,500 credit limit that I would be more inclined to use if Barclay's didn't want to increase my limit. Immediate bump.

Congrats! I got mine and held it tight for almost 30 days before I used it then treated myself to a new iMac. I didn't go huge though, got approved for $2k and was thankful to get it and used about half of it. Will pull it down and let it grow on it's own
