So I opened my email and was alerted that my Aviator Red card had its credit limit increased from $14,000 to $17,600. I opened it in early June this year.
I don't use the card and only got it to take advantage of the American airlines miles after 1 purchase + 0% BT until October '24. I moved $5K over to it from another card and have been paying it down, and I suppose that was enough activity to warrant a CLI.
Not complaining at all and it was a nice surprise. They've been throwing even more BT offers, reduced APR and extra bonus mile offers at me the past two months on this card. Perhaps I'll keep it open for another year after all.
No better surprise than an auto CLI, congratulations!
Congrats on the CLI!
Congratulations on your auto CLI 🎉
Barclays can do things no one sees coming, grats on the move!
Congrats on the CLI!

I am just now starting to see that, haha. Let's see if I can get another auto CLI at my year mark next June.
@OrangeRange curious because Barlcya's used to be known for AA on BT accounts that weren't being paid down well enough...
have you just been making minimums on the BT or like a certain percentage of the 5k BT?
I got the barclay world arrival card with a 20k limit and BT'ed about 7k, was paying little more than the minimum and they CLD me to I think it was 12,700... I called them and got them to reinstate the limit.. but just curious about your min pmt % vs the 5k BT balance.
that data would be helpful to those wanting to avoid AA with barclay's... they are a very finicky bank. .or at least used to be.
Congrats on the cli

No problem! I paid down $1,300 or 26% of the total amount of the BT from July to November. Though really most of that was paid in October and November. The first 3 monthly payments I was just paying a bit above minimums ($75). Haven't made my December payment yet as my statement just closed 4 days ago. My minimums have always been about $50.
So I suppose my CLI (25.75%) was equivalent percentage-wise to the amount of the BT I paid down.
