Thought I'd post how I did for my first CC app spree ever!

652 FICO (per Walmart)

2 baddies (working on disputing)

2 satisfactory car loans almost ready to fall off

32+ student loans (deferred, I'm in grad school)

No cc before last week

I got:

Kay $3,000

Amazon $600

Fingerhut $600

Walmart Card $400

Capital One secured MC $200 (minimum deposit & I can pay more to increase, which I will do each month as I pay to 0.00 balance)

Capital One Journey $300

Discover It secured $200 (200.00 deposit, I think because the inquiries started showing up)

Denied:

Citi - because of baddies & amt owed. I'll try to get updated CR & send within the 30 day limit for recon

Based on info here, I tried doing a recon with Walmart for CLI, but no-go. I'm not insulted.

Still waiting for 2 others, I believe.

Now happy in the garden!

That's great and congrats!!! Just garden those cards 6-12 months and you'll see a difference in your scores and make on time payments, keep util less than 9% and you'll have good luck with cli down the road! Good job!

I cheated a bit & used the shopping cart trick (thanks to this site) to get 3 more retail cards ($250.00 each). I'll use 2 of them, not sure about the other, but maybe...

Credit fell from 659 (credit.com) to 624 acording to MyFICO, but since yesterday, already gained a point. So I'm hopeful that once things report & show low balance & good pmt & high total limis (for me), it will be back in the high 600s
