So I'm basically at the end of my rebuild essentially. It has been quite the climb over the past 2 1/2 years.
EXP FICO 681 - 1% UTL - 1 BADDIE - On Time Payments for nearly 3 years. Perfect report for close to 4 years since going south on a car loan/student loans. Also rehabbed student loans for close to 3 years.
Past month I really hit the jackpot in terms of approvals - BOA Cash Rewards ($1K SL) - BOA BankAmericard ($2K SL) -
PayPal Cashback MC ($2K SL) and yesterday was the capper with a Home Depot CC ($3K SL) - I know the last one is a store card, but I shop at Home Depot enough....and will PIF. It's worth it for the open credit line to reflect my overall limits.
I cancelled my Legacy VISA, two Cap One cards, Platinum Secured $500 and Cap One QS1 $600 <<< Was getting nowhere with the QS1 with CLI requests for over a year. - Denied every time and no real valid explination other than my account was new? Really annoyed me. I went to cancel my Blaze MC, it had a $750 SL after it started at $500 around 8 months ago. They counter offered me $1500 SL to keep it open. I thought to myself, this is a crap card, but that's a monster CLI for me considering I'm still early in my rebuild recovery. So what the hell I'll keep it open. Was begging Cap One for two years and getting nowhere. Hey, crap card, but they gave me that CLI and I'll buy a coffee on it for the next few months and wind up closing it haha. For now, what the heck. ![]()

Good stuff, CR2020. Congratulations! on your progress.
I have the Blaze, Legacy, Show and First Savings Card. I have had about 3 years now when i started my rebuild. Since then i have 3 NFCU, 2 discover, 1 Apple, 1 Cap One, 1 BBVA Clear, 2 USAA, and a bunch of store cards. I hate to close them because of my age. I know they still count even closed but i think i'll leave them another year and close one a year.
Congrats on your build.
