It was time to request a CLI for my Bread Financial AMEX card. That card had a SL of $6950 (strange number). Submitted my info and was rewarded with a $1500 increase to $8450 (still a strange number). I was approved for their AAA Travel Advantage Visa April 30th. It had a SL of $10000. I requested an increase May 22nd. Was surprised to receive a $1500 increase so soon. I was going to wait until it was 6 months since the last increase but figured there wouldn't be any harm trying a few weeks early. Another $1500 to bump it up to $13000.
Both of these were a SP. I guess they have a thing about $1500? And it looks like we don't have to wait 6 months between CLI requests. For those with these and other Bread Financial cards, what has your experience been?
I have a Bread Amex cash back card, but I've stopped using it. I never got a CLI and I never asked for it.
The card is literally sock drawered for me now. Just waiting for them to close it.
Does anyone know whent that is likely to happen?
I waited a year or so after opening my Daily Advantage, and then got a $2,500 SP CLI. I may try again in the new year since that will be another decent chunk of time between requests.
@1lifeisworthit Why don't you use it?
@Follower I read a post from someone who said he tries for a CLI every four months. Usually get it. I'm going to put these cards on a four month schedule.
When Bread was known as Comenity, it was every 4 months and 1 day like clockwork. Always $1,500. I worked 2 of their cards all the way to the $30k max doing this. At one time I had 12 Comenity cards because of the shopping cart trick. I have 1 today at $30k. I got in the game right at the height of the frenzy and honestly, it's why I have the best of the best cards, limits and APRs right now.
Keep trying every 4 months and 1 day and see if it still works.
Congratulations @masscredit on the consistent CLIs! Unlike yourself and @BoujeeBetty, my last 2 CLIs for AAA Daily were $2500 each time, but at the 6 month marks. I'll try like @masscredit at 4 months and see if it changes. ![]()
WOOHOO!! Congratulations on your Approvals!!👏🏼🍾🥂
I have a Bread rewards American Express. Opened in March. I finally got my first CLI of 1500 a few days ago. New limit is a whopping..... 2900. I daily drove the card for a few months but it was not meeting my spending needs at the initial 1400 limit and cycling it was just annoying. It sits in the sock drawer now. Shame because it has the potential to be a pretty aggressive card, especially if you hit the bonus .75% spend every month.
Edit: Congrats OP on the CLIs!!
Congrats on the increases!
Nice. Congrats on your CLIs.
