Citi is very much YMMV. Some seem to get soft CLI, many of us don't. However, by calling instead of doing it online, you can usually be told if a soft offer is available, and if there isn't, you can then decide, knowing it will be a HP.

At the end of the day OP, you got the CLI. So, lesson learned it could go either way depending on whether your account is elegible.

Yeah i guess i'll call the next time i ask for a CLI for my CITI card. The only problem i see about calling is that some CSRs are clueless and don't really know the difference between HP and SP and they end up not giving a decent answer about it
congrats

Congratulations on your increase!

While some folks can better results going this route, it is true that some CSRs may not be as knowledgeable in this area. However, just expect it to be HP, and if you qualify for SP, then great.
Congrats on the CLI
Just tried for CLI on Citi AA, but was instantly denied. My util is about 40%. Fakos are 721 on CCT. How long before I can try again?
