Just wanted to share some data points to maybe help someone else.
Today was a good day. I posted a couple months ago about being balance chased by synchrony. I was paying off a bunch of cards that have been mostly maxed out for 8-9 months. I was worried about my PayPal Mastercard, lowes and synchrony car care (discount tire).
once discount tire was paid off they did just that. They lowered from 750 to 250. All other lines remained and that was late March. Fast forward.
Today, I requested a limit increase to Paypal Mastercard, approved 1500 more. I'll take it. Then after contemplating I tried my lowes card. Approved 2500 more. I thought hmm, it can't hurt to try a few more. Discount tire, approved 750 back to my initial SL before they reduced it. And last, which gets me to my topic point I requested an increase to Home Depot. My limit was 10k, I requested 15k and was approved. This is Citi.
I have no other Citi Cards, I thought about getting my foot in the door so I tried to prequalify and there are no offers. This has actually went on for over 2 years. No offers. I decided to apply anyway for simplicity card for balance transfers and 0% apr. even though I was not preapproved. I got a response that it was under review. After about 10 min they called me and approved me for $500 SL. I'm disappointed in the SL on one hand but on the other I feel like I'm in. Thoughts?
Also,
a few days ago I apped for the PenFed power cash reward card and got an approval for 3,500. Very excited about this one as I want to build this relationship. I am looking forward to good things from this one.
I need to work on updating my stats but I am sitting 680-710 across the bureaus. Prior chapter 13 that will fall off my report Aug 2023. Credit usage prior to increases is around 37%. Looks like I took 3 hits from these 2 apps
