I was really thinking I'd done all I needed to do for a while...
I was poking around on the Chase website to see if the recent offer they sent me was worth taking... there was a preapproval link, so I clicked it.
It came back with an eligible offer - Chase Sapphire Preferred... So I bit, filled out the rest of the application. Figuring it might come back with a minimal credit line not worth my time.
The screen comes back saying that I've been approved for $24k! My jaw dropped!
I've got a couple of $20k cards from credit unions that I got back in early 2000's... pre HAMP. Then I started having to grovel for anything and everything. I've been making full mortgage payments for the last two years. In the past six months though, I've dropped my utilization from 11% to 2% with a combination of CLIs and aggressive paydown.
Centurion Bank isn't budging on three Amex revolving cards they slashed down to $500 back in 2009. But Chase seems to love me again!
Congrats on the great limit! Thanks for sharing.
