CSR Wait For Offer Or Apply Now - Update: Approved

I have no relationship with Chase besides my Amazon Visa card that I've had for about 10 months, however I havent received any offers for other cards yet.

Im about to book a vacation totalling $13000 and I dont have any travel cards. Thinking of applying for the CSR right now however I just wanted your opinions on if I shoud wait for an offer from them or if I should just pull the trigger. APR doesnt matter for me because I PIF every month. If I were to receive an offer would it be more lucrative than $13,000 x 3 = 39000 points?

Im pretty sure I would get approved, 2 cards over 15K CL, and im under the 5/24 rule as well. 770 EQ 765 TU 764 EX, currently on AZEO on Chase card under 8%. I do have a incorrect inquiry on my EX due to Discovers prequal site messing up, after back and forth for 3 months they are "still working on getting the HP changed to SP"

History of opened cards

Wells Fargo Card Service
5 yrs, 8 mos

Macys Department Stores
4 yrs, 7 mos

American Express
2 yrs, 4 mos

Comenity Bank/express
1 yr, 7 mos

Capital One / Neiman Mar
1 yr, 2 mos

Chase Card
10 mos
Also I am going to be booking the vacation through Expedia, im going to assume expedia counts as travel.

TIA!

Mod note:  I've updated your subject to reflect your approval; feel free to change/edit if you would like.  --UB

Re: CSR Wait For Offer Or Apply Now

Go for it. You'll get the 50000 signup bonus that everyone else gets on top of what you get from spend. So you should have an easy 89k points quickly.

Re: CSR Wait For Offer Or Apply Now

Got the 30 day message unfortunately and recon office is closed apparently?!? Update when they open. What im wondering is for the heck of it if I try for any of the freedoms and actually get approved will it ruin my chances of CSR? Will it still be 1 hp within a few hours?

Re: CSR Wait For Offer Or Apply Now

So when I applied I called the recon number right away and it said it cant find anything under my social, spoke to a rep they said the same thing. I applied again per the customer service reps advice. Just called app status automated number and it said I have more than one application and I would know between 7-10 days. I also called human recon and he said I would know between 1-2 weeks because it is still under review. What are my chances folks?

Re: CSR Wait For Offer Or Apply Now

I am not sure if you played this the right way. I really hope you get approved.

If I had $13,000 of spending and I was in your position "Credit wise"

I would have double dipped CSR and CSP on the same day (Only way to get them both). And also Amex Platinum

SIgn up bonus combined will be 100,000 UR points and 60,000 (or more) MR points and total minimum spend required is $13,000.

With that being said I think you should just wait until Chase contacts you.

Re: CSR Wait For Offer Or Apply Now

You are under 5/24, good scores and no INQ. There should be no reason they won't approve you. Did you change address or change jobs recently? Is a freeze or lock on any of your reports?  It could be simple as just verfiying some minor details that the automated computer couldn't verify.

I'd give it a couple of days (Memorial Day Monday) and you'll be surprise to find a new card showing up in your chase app.

Re: CSR Wait For Offer Or Apply Now

No change of address or employment, no freeze, I called human recon asked if they needed to verify anything he said nope they just havent started reviewing, or have just started reviewing. Only issue is my income is around 42000, as im still a part time student, but my limits on my Macys is 15K Amex 20K and chase amazon prime 8K so based on history they can see I can handle high limits.

My parents dont have travel cards either, should they try that whole trifecta to not miss out on the churrning instead of me paying for the trip?

Im checking their INQs as we speak, 800+ ficos accross the board, high income, no derogs or lates. They have higher limits than I do.

Mom is most qualified, but has 2 auto inquries and 2 cards opened in the last 2 years, wont qualify for CSR CSP and Amex plat right? She has a business as well, does that count for personal inquiries as well?

Re: CSR Wait For Offer Or Apply Now

Decided not to jump the gun for either of my parents as they are both 4/24 due to their car that they leased. Auto recon is saying 7-10 business days letter for first app 2 weeks for second app. Was told by recon human that second app should be ignored.

Called Recon again today they said still under review, they say 30 days but usually 3-5 business days. Told me to call in a week for a response, not sure how I stand now. Any insight?

I feel like id rather get rejected and try again in the future as I am graduating in a year so higher income so I could grab both Sapphires and the Amex plat around my next vacation.

Re: CSR Wait For Offer Or Apply Now

It seems like they haven't reviewed your app yet. You'll probably have to wait until Tuesday to get an answer.

Do you mean getting the CSP and CSR at the same time? If so, that's not possible anymore. You can only have one sapphire product at a time.
