CSR and Freedom Unlimited approved at 4/24

I became 4/24 June 3rd.  I was eagerly awaiting today so I could apply for the Reserve.  Could barely sleep last night!  (kidding...kinda...)

Haven't even had my coffee yet.  Opened my laptop, opened Safari, and app'd.  Instant approval for $26,800 with 17.74% apr

Decided to see if I could sneak another one in there while "still at" 4/24...opened Chrome, app'd for the Freedom Unlimited.  Instant approval for $7,100 with 16.74% apr

I could not be happier.  Some data points:

  • I have no banking relationship with Chase.  Burned them 15 years ago for a few thousand.  Tried to get back in with them a few times to no avail.  Finally able to pick up the AmazonPrime back in September.
  • This moring I was at 4/24 for credit cards, but I had a Marcus loan reporting to Experian as an instalment loan.
  • Experian (which they pulled for my Amazon) is 740 from MyFico with 3 inquiries
  • Household income about 125k

I've got some cards. Some are pretty, some are ugly. Some are more useful than others.

That's awesome! Yeah, Im personally dreading July, 2019, because I I opened my cards July 3rd, but have to wait a WHOLE month until August 1st Smiley Sad . But congrats on the approvals, that sounds awesome! I have never read anyone applying for 2 Chase cards at 4/24, so congrats and hope they stick. Just don't wake the bear Smiley Wink

Thanks!

Yeah as I was researching more last night, I came across a handful of posts about people being able to get 2 at 4/24.  Took a chance and so far so good Smiley Surprised  I already see both in my Chase account...hope they stick Smiley Wink

Thanks again to you for giving me the push I needed in regards to my loan question Smiley Happy

Grats OP.  There seems to be some misinformation floating around. No one has to wait for the next month after one goes 4/24. You could app the day after going such. I did 7 days after going such and had no problem being approved.

Re: CSR and Freedom Unlimited approved at 4/24

From what I've read in regards to waiting till the first of the next month (again, I've never tested this, these are just MF theories), it depends on which bureaus chase pulls for you. Apparently, it was believed back in the day that Experian would somehow report an account was 1 year 11 months until the end of the following month, and when the Chase system received this, it causes it to automatically deny an app, and you'd have to go to manual recon (usually successful). That's what I've read, so I don't screw with the 🐻 over a rumored 3 week waiting period. If I've waited a year, I can wait 3 more weeks Smiley Wink that's just my understanding of the old rumors.
