Cap One Approved w/ LOW Score

Just wanted to note that my wife is struggling to rebuild from our CH7 but I encouraged her to apply for the rebuilder cards for C1 today. She has a low 583 FICO8 and got approved for a Platnium card with a $500 SL. She immediately app'd for a QS1 right afterward but was denied. Just pleased that she was able to get herself in with C1! They were burned in our CH7. We both have cards and a retirement account with them now. Love C1!

Congrats to you and your wife! Cap 1 gave me a chance when I was rebuilding.

The funny thing is when my credit was in the toilet 5 years ago, my only cc was through HSBC, that I got 6 years prior. I was afraid they would eventually close that card because my credit was so bad.

Lo and behold, Cap 1 bought them out and eventually switched my card to a Platinum. I applied for 2 other Capital One rebuilder cards and were approved for $500 and $300, respectively. So those rebuilder cards are now Quicksilver One cards, with $1750 limits each. And, my original HSBC card has a $2000 limit.

No matter what happens, Capital One will always be in my wallet, even though I have other elite cards, such as Amex and Chase.

Congratulations! This is a great first step and I'm sure you and you're wife will continue down the right path to a better credit score and cleaner reports. Just know we are all on that same path in some way or another and this is the place for all the information you might need! :-)!
