Cap One Credit Limit Increase

Earlier today I posted a question about cli on my two Cap One cards. After reading the responses I decided to try for the increases. The first card got a response of (thank you you'll receive a letter yada, yada, yada). The second card received a $1000 increase so that makes $1500. I'll try the first card again in a few months. I wonder if I will still get an increase at the end of the steps program..... Thankful for the increase.

I'd like to know the answer to that one too! I got a QS1 card 4 months ago with a starting limit of 3000. Got an email about that card 2 months ago stating it was indeed in credit steps, and after 5 timely payments it would go to 3500, a 500 increase. I pushed the luv button this morning, and received a 3000 increase to a 6000 limit. Don't really care about the promised 500 at this point, but will post in 2 months to tell how it goes.

Just did the same thing after reading your thread. Got a bump from 1500 to 2500 on my QS. Soft pull!

Ive never tried because I've always heard stories about how reluctant Cap One is to offer CLIs outside of the credit steps program.

I've found, on our two Cap1 cards, that if I wait a full 6 months after the previous increase (started after credit steps finished); we get a CLI every time. Each time, the offered increase has been the same, or larger, than the previous increase... so far.

That's per card. So card 1 gets a request in March & September. Then card 2 gets requests in May & November. Like clockwork since March 2013.

Yup. I track the date, so I'm sure I'm at the 6 month mark. Even a couple of days early can result in a denial.
