@Ashes wrote:Congratulations on all your success! A lot of people like to downtalk Capital One, but they will definitely work for and with you, a lot of times when no one else will. Even when my younger credit illiterate self burned them, they were the first ones to open the door for me when I started to rebuild. I will always be grateful to them for that and Capital One will always be in my wallet.
I agree wholeheartedly! Many people have Cap1 to thank for giving them the opportunity to build or rebuild their credit. They serve an incredibly important role in the credit life cycle. Even though I now have cards from other "prime" issuers, I use Venture as my primary card, because I respect that they gave me and others a critically important opportunity.

Drewg 350, is your judgement showing on all 3 of your reports? Also is it paid?
Yes. My Cap One judgement is still open. I owe um just under 2K. I'm working with my attorney to get both my judgements paid, and hopefully "vacated", rather than "satisfied". These two showing "open" have cost me most of my declines. I'm positive. If these were both satisfied, I don't believe would've received many declines.
Last month, for some reason, EX deleted my public records and my CH 7 from 2007, and these two judgements were gone. Both EQ and TU show them, and that's why I got in with Amex, and a few others, whom only pull EX.
Great rebuild story. Congrats on your success and of course the awesome Cap 1 LUV ![]()

So I went on a little app spree last month once my scores all got over 700 (TU = 710 / EQ = 720 / EX = 790).They were mid 500's back in January, but since opening up 2 secured cards (Wells Fargo 2k / US Bank 1k) and getting almost all my remaining derogs removed, I've had "some" success. While I was declined by DISC, BOA, CITI, and USAA, I've had success with Cap One, Chase, Amex, Wells Fargo, and SDFCU. I have tried repeatedly on every prequal site I can find, but never have any offers from any lenders. I had absolutely no idea of apping with Cap One (as one of my two derogs left is an open Cap One 2K judgment from 2010) however, thanks to this forum, I was told to "spin the wheel" with them as they don't "blacklist". So I started with Cap One and was instantly approved for QS 5K CL. I than went to Amex and got PRG, Delta PLAT 1400.CL, and BCP 1K. I opened an account with SDFCU as I wanted "in" with a Credit Union, and got 1K. Because I bank with Wells Fargo, I opened a 3K secured personal loan with them a month ago to have an installment loan on my CR's. I was also hoping they might graduate my 2K secured VISA, but it was too early, being only 5 month's old. So I decided to app instead, and got approved for a WF Propel Amex 2500.CL. Finally I appd for Chase Slate and got my highest CL at 5500. I was happy with my "wins and losses" and planned to garden for 1 - 2 year's and try and raise my CL's instead of adding any more INQ's (EX = 10 / EQ = 5 / TU = 4). So yesterday my first statement closes and reports to all 3 CA's, my Cap One QS, and I decide to check their prequal site. Comes up with Venture, Venture 1, QS, QS 1, and Plat. The only card I really wanted to get to finish up my spree was the Venture, so I put in my final app = instant approval 20K CL !!!!
I couldn't believe it. I was thinking if I get approved, I'd be happy with another 5K, but was hoping to get anywhere up to 10K so I have a card with a high CL. This in turn would help me raise the others who started me with low CL's. Getting twice what I was hoping for, 20K, just blew me away. Gotta luv Cap One. They really are a "different" kind of lender. 😀😁😀😁😀
Huge congrats on your success!
I bet Cap One will be in your wallet all the time. ![]()
