Following up on thread in App section... got a QS1 approval today after upgrading my Cap1 Plat to a QS yesterday. Nothing groundbreaking on the SL as I even was prepared for a denial but its a win. Needed the second bank card for the build and got impatient. Cap1 slapped my hand with a toy limit as Im 3 months into the steps program still with my Plat now PCd to a QS. Rep even stated 2x about trying to app back to back within 6 months. Something about the conversation just felt right tho.
Dont try this at home.🤣 Someone give me a shovel... heading to the garden till Spring.
Crazy thing is ive read in threads going back a few years ago where Cap1 used to allow apps under 6 months but have since stopped. Rep confirmed that under 6 months is a internal UW guideline however they wont stop you from taking the 3x HPs if you should so desire to throw caution to the wind 🤣 This was compounded by the fact that I am still in Steps AND did a PC upgrade just yesterday on my Steps card. Beast mode wins... I go hide in garden now. 😁
Agree. I opened a Cap one platinum card Oct 2018 and in January 2019 applied for the quicksilver one. I was a week before the 90 day mark. The rep told me there would be no hard pull (there wasn't) as they want to protect their customers. I reapplied in a week, and was approved at 91 days. I also upgraded the platinum to the quicksilver then.
So as you can see, the 6 month mark doesn't apply here. Now for their regular cards Savor, Venture etc....it may.
CSR mentioned HPs like she was getting a commission for each one served. 😁 my VS EQ took a slight ding but my credit alarms didnt go off yet. Would be a gift for no HPs. Bad enough they gave me just enough SL for emergency cab fare. 🤣
One DP for those interested is the UW is totally different between the QS1 and the QS. I almost apped for the QS over the phone and stopped myself... luckily. It was only when CSR lady hit me with totally different questions did i see what she did there. QS1 is one set of computer algos and QS is another. QS1 minimum is $300 and QS is only determined when it kicks back. QS phone app is way fewer questions also.
