Is it bad to accept their low increases? I did it yesterday for a $100 bump. I figured it would put me ahead for the six month increase. I asked early after having the card two months. I make multiple payments each month as I'm trying to keep utilization down.

Not necessarily bad. Some have reported still getting a sizable increase at 6 months. I'm glad I waited, however I'm not sure if I would've received a $2,500 increase at 6 months if I would've accepted a $100 increase months back. I also tend to think that the credit steps increase amount they give you has more to do with your overall credit profile and the progress (or no progress) you've made over that time frame, rather than your usage and payments during the 6 months.

Thank you I appreciate that !!! It doesn't have anything to do with luck though. Nothing about credit is luck. My profile has positively increased dramatically in the last 6 months, never missed a payment, frequently used my products, have been in the garden for 4 of the 6 credit steps months. I hope you have the same success !! Happy holidays.

Re: Cap1 QS1 credit steps CLI

The credit steps amount is predetermined when you are approved and you get 6 months to prove to them that you can make your payment on time and handle credit.

the only potential issue with accepting a small increase like that, is that it locks you out of any further increases (except credit steps) for the next 6 months.  So, if you believe your credit situation is about to improve within a couple of months, it would be best to avoid taking such an increase in favor of a likely better offer once you do indeed improve.
