I applied for a capital one platinum credit card last week and was told I need to send my id for verification. I called today and was told it was approved for a $300 starting credit line. Its not much, but I will take it. I used to have accounts with them and one was charged off which I recently paid off. Its nice to get back in with them. How are they with credit line increases?

Try a credit line increase after 2 statements. Then you'll also get your credit steps increase at the 6-7 month mark..I can almost guarantee you it'll work. My gf with high 400s low 500s was approved for $300, 2 months later got it to $550.
Congrats

Congrats!
I got the same $300 CC 8 moths ago (it's my first unsecured CC), after 5 months I pressed luv button and got +$500 (ant they changed the card to quicksilver via chat - I just asked is it possible without any hope), 2 months later I got credit steps auto CLI +$500, so it is $1300 now.
