I had a CapitalOne card when I was 20(8 years ago) and that went to collections with a $300 balance that same year. I have tried several time to get a Capital One card since then and kept getting denied, even for the secured card. I applied for the secured card on 9/16 and was finally approved. I had to put down a $99 deposit but I hope this helps build my credit. I have a myfico score of 585 with several cards (surge, credit one bank, fingerhut, and conns) but I am glad to be a reputable card. Hopefully this is a sign for good things to come. :-)
