I started trying to repair my credit about 8 months ago. Started with a $200 Secured Cap One..then after many rejections I was approved for Kohls $300 CL. Couple months later approved for Cap One Quicksilver $500 CL, and Credit One Bank with $300 CL. Also am on the fingerhut freshstart program. Denial after denial from synchrony and commenity bank. Started with scores in the low 500's, made it up to 583 in 6 months. Just dropped down to 579 ( Im guessing because all the new accounts and inquiry).
BUT TODAY....Good ol Cap One came through for me and gave me $300 CL increase on my secured card!! I just love being rewarded for being responsible with my finances. It feels awesome. Now, if I could just get all these darn collection accounts to fall off, I would be A-OK. Ive got 23 collection accounts, all medical bills, due to fall of in 2017 (total debt on collections is almost 21k) yikes. Now I just need to lay low and not apply for anything. I have 13 inquiries (BAD)...but its SO hard not to apply for new cards...and its not that I need the accounts or the credit, I just want to see the word APPROVED on my computer screen, and get the warm fuzzies lol. Its almost addicting.
