I have a trip planned for early April so like a good myFICOer I figured I might as well use the opportunity to work on a sign-up bonus. I had a pre-approval a while back with Capital One so I figured I'd give it a shot again, and luckily they still like me. Turns out they like me even more than I expected them to...
This is Capital One card #4 for me... I have a grandfathered no-AF Savor card (4% on restaurants/entertainment), a Quicksilver WEMC and a Quicksilver Visa. Notably, the QS WEMC started off as a Venture back in 2017.
I'm not gonna lie... I got this for the bonus.
I suck at churning, though, so before the next AF is due I'll probably change it over to a Venture One and just use it for the occasional BT promo.
Now to the part everybody is going to be asking about... I'm 0/24 (actually in a few month I would have been 0/36), and all three of my FICO 8 scores are 850 (I only have access to one FICO 9 - EX via Wells Fargo - and it's 850 as well). I know between the new HP(s) and the new account being added I'm going to lose some points, but that's OK... the $750 bonus is worth it.
The grandfathered Savor is 'bucketed' - it was previously an old HSBC/Orchard Bank card. The QS Visa is also bucketed, albeit likely to a lesser degree (assuming that's a thing). The QS WEMC is not bucketed - this one was approved after my profile was 'clean'. Historically there's been a lot of chatter about limits on the number of Capital One account depending on bucketed, etc. but I'm not sure that's still a thing.
Side note: Right after the approval I was given the chance to add the card to my existing login. Another card I didn't recognize also showed up so I left that box checked, and that was a mistake - that one was an old closed account from 20+ years ago. From poking around Reddit it looks like there's no easy way to get rid of the old account now, so I'm stuck looking at it on the dashboard, LOL. Not the end of the world, but annoying... hopefully this tidbit will help somebody in a similar situation.
Congrats on the CL, although it's not like your scores don't deserve it lol. Re old accounts showing, I've had similar situations with Discover and Chase and had to call in to fix as not to be annoyed going forward.
Congrats! You should be able to hide the old account by going to your profile --> account & feature settings --> account display settings. There should be a slider to hide old accounts.

Congrats on a fabulous approval my friend and enjoy the bonus as well. Wow close to 36 months on new account which is also quite the accomplishment vs how we use to be

I know, right??
I've been sitting on my hands for so long I was tempted to go for the Kroger MC as well but for now I'm exercising restraint, haha!

Well, for science I gave the Kroger MC pre-approval a whirl, and it came back with no offer (I suspect it's due to existing exposure with U.S. Bank). After a little reflection, I'm strangely relieved, LOL.
While I definitely wouldn't mind having it, the amount of additional cash back it would bring me each year doesn't hold a candle to a sign-up bonus. I'm sorta glad it's no longer calling my name, haha.

Think you would be approved but in lieu of a nice sub the ROI vs a one time bonus would likely be several years to start to come out ahead. Just how my brain works but live a custom cashes and believe my initial one didn't come with one with that said. On opposite spectrum stops from callilng and cancelling useless cards after getting subs as well.. I have a few of those this year with subs AF's about to hit AA business cards, etc need to keep delta businessfor 2 years before cancelling etc.
