I have not always had the best credit and still don't. Several times I have had to just let things go due to circumstances (divorce, husband got laid off twice, medical problems), but both my husband and I have been working hard to build back and I sure feel like I have made it now. Honestly, I can't explain how I did it other than having a good relationship with Capital One through my Savor card and past auto loans. My husband's credit score is higher than mine and he can't get it, but I went in to the preapproval tool and it told me I was preapproved for all 3 tiers of Venture. Since we do travel some every year and get hotels, I thought this might be a good one, but I am going to make that decision after I have used it a while since I have read some people who didn't think it was worth it. I currently still cannot get approved with Chase or Amex to get the other "top" rewards cards. The only tip I have is do not go to the preapproval tool from a mobile device. Do it from a real browser. On my phone it only offered me the Venture and Venture One, but on the computer it said I was preapproved for all 3.
Venture X approved on June 5
SL - $10k
Congratulations on your approval and amazing SL!
Thanks!! I was shocked for a bit!
Congrats
Congrats on the approval and good luck on your future goal cards!
Congratulations on your Venture X approval!
Congratulations!
Nice SL, congratulations on your approval.
Congrats on the approval. While Capital One is often stingy, they can be generous to both strong profiles with relatively few cards and weaker profiles provided you give them heavy usage or their algorithm deems you'll be profitable. I have a 6.5yr old BK7 and they've been fairly generous with me on my last 2 cards (VX and Savor). VX was a 10k approval and sits at 15k due to CLI and reallocation, Savor was a 20k approval a couple months back and I probably wouldn't even ask for a CLI if I were eligible lol.

Congrats on the Venture X approval!
