CapitalOne QS approval.

I'm a in the process of rebuilding my credit and applied for three secured cards last month and got approved for capitalone, discover, and US bank. I just started using the cards on their first month. Today while I was browsing the forum i decided to try the prequalify links and to my surprise i was prequalified for both capitalone QS and the unsecure platinum. I did this before applying for the secured cards and there was no offer.. so i decided to take the risk and apply to my surprise i was approved for an unsecure QS with 500 CL.
I'm suprised because this make no sense to me in many ways.. i just got a secured card so why they are giving me an unsecured card in one month? Is this normal? Does it mean my credit is getting better?
I just wanted to share this with you maybe someone can explain this to me.

Re: CapitalOne QS approval.

If you had no credit cards before your secured cards, your FICO 8 scores may have gotten a big boost when those 3 cards reported, enough that you were able to qualify for QS.

In addition, once you are in with Capital One, it tends to get easier to be approved for future cards.

Note they limit you to ONE unsecured card every 6 months, so don't apply for any more until 6 months from today.

Re: CapitalOne QS approval.

I would count your blessings and hope your luck holds up because I'm amazed they let you app let alone approved the QS card for you assuming you're in rebuild mode. I always thought any approval with CapOne reset the app clock for six months but maybe that doesn't include secured cards. In any case congratulations on your approvals and hope your rebuild goes smoothly!

Yes i didn't have any credit cards since 2010. I'm not planning on applying for any cards at least for one year since i have now4 new cards and i need to work on using them.

Re: CapitalOne QS approval.

QS or QS1? QS1 is for fair to good credit. QS is for good to excellent.

Either way congrats. Just would be interesting to note if you really did get a quicksilver a month after building credit.

Re: CapitalOne QS approval.

Without a doubt the OP got Quicksilver One.

The OP was pre qualified for QS1 AND Platinum. And they chose QS1.
