Chartway FCU headquartered in Virginia gets occasionally mentioned here on MF but over the last several years there have been very few data points of approvals shared. I had joined them a couple of years ago with the intent of taking a wait-and-see approach.
On Friday afternoon when I logged in for a routine check of my account checked my Offers panel and noticed a bunch of preapprovals.
My last application was late last year for my Affinity FCU card and there aren't other cards out there that I'm really interested in so I decided to give the wheel a spin. Selecting the Visa Signature Rewards option confirmed the preapproval and populated the requested limit; I could have adjusted the limit up or down but left it as-is and submitted the application. I immediately got a confirmation of the application - not an instant approval.
A few seconds after the submission I got a notice of an Experian HP. Based on the scoring it looks like they may have used my EX FICO Auto Score 8 score, but the bigger point is that accepting the offer did trigger a hard pull.
Backtracking showed that this specific offer had been redeemed.
I got a notice of approval this morning of the requested $25K @10.74% APR along with a link to e-sign the related document via Docusign.
I was prepared to share POI (I had accurately stated my income and don't have major philosophical issues with providing POI when appropriate) but they did not ask for it. Unknown if that was due to my responding to an extended offer or they felt they had no need due to pulling data from WageWorks (which my employer participates in) or a similar service.
All in all, a pretty seamless process. Data point added.
