I just applied for this card an hour ago, and I was approved for a measly $500 and 23.49% APR. This is pretty bad to me At least I didn't get denied I guess. I wanted to know is there some outlet to get this SL reconsidered?
I called the recon line in the backdoor numbers thread, and they told me only way to do it is a CLI requiring another HP. I talked to the CS rep which told me the same. Then I talked to the lending department to try understanding why they gave my such a low SL.
Here is some interesting data about Chase. He told me they do not look at scores at all or even have an internal score. It doesn't matter, but for reference my EX was pulled at 707. My uti% is 0 over 4 reporting cards. AAoA is 7.8 yrs. He said what really hurt the most was that I have 2 new cards, one from October (USAA) and another from earlier this month (Disco $7500 SL). My Paypal Extras Mastercard that I have had for 9 years is considered a retail card to them and is not taken into much consideration. The other card on report is an actual retail card 15 years old opened that has been inactive since 2008. So in there eyes I am looking like someone with barely any credit history! I also have rehabbed student loans that show their late payments leading up to the default (this is only derogs I have).
Lesson learned moving forward that I should be sneaky and apply all things at the same time lol
Any advice how to move forward with this credit card? I'd really like to get this SL changed. Moving past that when would be a good time to reasonably request a CLI? Is Chase a 3 month kinda people or 6 months etc? Should I wait for these new cards to be a year old? Thanks

The way Chase works is you have to apply for a CLI first with CS, and then if denied, you can call and recon the denial. It will be a HP again, and might be a denial as well. If you got $500 sl, sounds like you barely squeaked in, so I would just hold off, use the card monthly/PIF, and see if you get an auto between 6-12months.
Well, Congratulations on your approval though!
You are rolling the dice with another HP. You might be better off finding a Chase donor card and apping for that instead. Amazn Visa does tend to have lower SL though...
Chase DOES have an internal score - your CARS score.. I dont know why they would tell you that they dont have one
That limti and APR are indicative of a borderline approval. I wouldn't waste a HP on a CLI right now. Use the card for several months, PIF and then take a HP for a CLI. I think you will have better luck then.
