Hi Forums,
I tried the pre-approval link a few times last year and it always said something to the effect of "unable to confirm".
I didn't have any of my reports blocked, so I assume it was Chase having me on their blacklist as I burned them on two cards for $11,000 over 8+ years ago. The cards were still showing in my Chase account until about a year ago. (Yes I still bank with Chase even though I owe them money. Don't judge me
).
Hit the pre-approval about a month ago and it said approved, but I didn't pull the trigger as I was looking to get back in the door with Amex and didn't want anything jeopardizing that. Finally got around to applying and was instantly approved for $26,000.
I am definitely over the 5/24 rule by 3 cards.
Data Points:
Pulled EX @ 770 & Possibly EQ @ 798
6 Inquires On EX / 0 On EQ
Income: $255k
No Baddies
8 New Accounts In The Previous 24 Months
Util At 8% on $105k of total credit.
The CL is in line with my other top cards and I'm pretty sure Chase's internal algorithm can easily verify that I have the income as I bank with them, but the fact I was approved is definitely proof that you can be WELL over 5/24 AND have had a C/O with Chase and get approved for at least the Amazon Card.
very nice approval!!
Congratulations!
