Just wanted to share my situation and approval. I applied using one of the recently mailed offers from chase.
I am a 23 year old full time student.
Chase Freedom instantly approved for $2,200 with an APR of 18.99%
Currently have:
Discover IT ----300/1250 APR 19.99%
Chase Slate ----0/400 APR 23.99%
Sportsmans Guide Visa ----0/4000 APR 24.99%
Victorias Secret---- 0/750
AMEX BCE---- 240/2900 APR 12.99%
Overall utilization: 6%
Income was reported at 16,675
Average age of accounts 2 years 11 months (longest 5 years)
TU FICO (2/13/14) 748
EX FICO (10/14) 744

I applied for the freedom because they wouldn't PC my slate to the freedom. In any way, this is WAY better since now I get the sign on bonus and 0% APR till june. I can also just transfer over the limit from my slate card and close it out ^_^. Hope this helps someone in a similar situation!

Why close the Slate? Keep it open and use it every couple of months to build up the length of the tradeline. It's not costing you anything, is it?
