So in preparation for that, I looked up the recon phone number for Chase and I wanted to have it on my phone so I can call when I received the "Sorry, no go!" letter. As soon as I dialed that number, a nice lady answered the phone and I was like oh well what the hell, I'll talk to her.

She said that the reason why the application had stopped is that the zip code somehow pulled the wrong state. It was correct, just that their system threw an exception (error) of sorts. She put me on hold and came back with a

"Mr IamB2, your application has been approved for $2200 initial starting limit and APR of 22.9%"

Holy cow. Not only am I surprised at this, but it is my highest credit limit on any card to date. LOL. And it is the card I wanted! Now someone walk me over to the freezer so I can freeze up all my reports. Next card is Amex - but not going to even check pre-approvals for that until my last baddie falls off. '

The number I called for the recon, by the way, is listed on the "Backdoor Numbers" thread. The third from the top under Chase Listings. Scores are posted on my signature. Will update my garden image later on tonight.

I know, Baller. It has been an amazing journey - although I will never want to go through this ever again - to be able to get to here. Chase Freedom was really a card I wanted since the rebuild, so I am happy. Finally, I can just simply relax. Honestly, if it was Bank of America that showed me as pre-approved, I will more than likely not have pulled the trigger.

So, tomorrow, I am freezing up my reports.

You don't have to tell me, Maiden_girl. I am telling you I had no business applying for this card wasting an HP with a CO still there, but since it has never pulled up any "Pre-Approval offers" I did it so quick, that I didn't even stop to think about it. When the 7-10 day message came up, I started regretting it. But I am glad I did and I am glad I called the recon number.

Just when my AAoA is edging up now Chase ups the SignUp Bonus to $200 once again and now all these new approvals are making me edgy. I accidently called Chase Recon back when i was turned down for Sallie Mae a few months ago and their Recon Rep was absolutely great and encouraged me to app the Freedom. Now i really have a decision to mull over

Ha! I was so excited to just get the approval, I forgot to ask them if I got the $200 bonus. I wonder if I can call them back? Maybe after I get my card!
