@BluePoodle wrote:My daugher just applied for the Chase Freedom today and got the 7-10 day pending message. It didn't surprise me too much since both my Chase applications went pending until I could verify my personal info with them. But with her being a student, I am still a little unsure. She has a TU score of 711 from last month, but probably higher because of I paid off one of my cards and got a CLI. We aren't doing score watch but generally we have her scores have always been around 715-725. She is an AU on 4 of my cards. She has her on Barclay SM card with a CL of $3.2K which she got May of 2014. She has no negatives on her file, just a thin file. Her oldest AU card is 2 years and her oldest student loan is over 2 years.
Should I have had her ap for something else? Or do you think they will just verify like the have for me?
It's a good sign if you check the status of her application by phone and it says something like you'll be notified in 2 weeks or in the next 30 days and most likely just means they need to verify something. If it's 7 days on the phone, that's most likely a denial. Good luck to your DD.
The email she received after she applied stated 30 days. I thought about calling but she just applied a couple of hours ago and with today being a holiday, I figured I would just have her call tomorrow. Just wondering what others thought.
I was trying to remember if Chase had an issue with new CC holders having to have their cards for 12 months first. She has AU accounts older, but the card her own card is only going on 8 months old.Automated phone system differs from whatever the email says a lot of the time. That's been my experience.
Automated phone system will usually give it away ... If two week message is given on app status most likely it is verification.. If 7 day or whatever, then there might be issues.. Call up the auomated app status line and see what it says
I just did. It didn't recognize her SS#? So maybe she entered in incorrectly? Or it is just not showing up yet, IDK. But she did receive an email verifying her application. So I have no idea!?
Try again, maybe you entered the wrong ssn?
called twice. Automated system does not recognize the SS#
Very stange... Call tomorrow App Recon and ask them if it is verification or a denial.. # is located in the Backdoor # sticky. Probably an approval, only thing that worries me is that she has under a year of credit history (chase likes to see a year), other then that she should be approved. Alot of people have been approved with less then a year and others turned down due to not having a year... Really it is a YYMV type thing.. Keep us informed tomorrow.

Yeah, I wonder too. I don't know if maybe she entered her SS# incorrectly. I used the number on the sticky. If she gets denial, we will have her apply for Amex and reapply to chase freedom in spring when she hits one year with her barclay card. I didn't even think about it being an issue for her ap. Freedom just seems like it will work better for her and had the $100 sign up bonus with only $500 in spend. Guess we will know more tomorrow.
Thanks!

I have used these numbers to reach chase back door.
Good luck to your daughter.
1 888-245-0625
1 888-270-2127
Its kinda sad I have that first number memorized in my head!!!
Also OP, did you call recon/uw this morning being the first # listed above?
Just called the automated system and she was approved with a credit limit of $2.2K and 18.99 APR after her intro offer. It is strange how both Barclay and Chase started her with weird numbers. ($3.2K for Barclay and now $2.2K for Chase). Whatever, LOL. She's happy with the approval. I had hoped they would match Barclay but oh well.
Thanks everyone. I have no idea why it did not show up in the automated system yesterday. But she received an email from ProtectMyID today about the inquiry.
