I've been off the forums for a bit and gardening credit as best I could to get under 5/24. I applied online using the pre-approval tool today and was approved for $ 7,500.This is my first Chase card. I currently have no banking relationship with them. I am considering applying for the Sapphire in a few months and would like some input. Here are the data points.
Utilization: 8%
Cards In 24: 3
Experian 8: 757
Inquires: 2
Congrats on the approval!

Congrats on your Chase approval!

congrats @HeavyResist I'd say give it 4 months with the new Freedom (sometimes chase will auto cli that early if they like what they see!)...if no CLI after 6 months, you could either A. ask for higher limit on Freedom B. PC Change to Sapphire if allowed C. apply for and open the CSP and hopefully get at least a $5-10K limit. Some combo of those recommendations could work.. Id say prob just open a new account for the CSP after 7th statement cuts with Freedom and then if you're approved for the CSP, ask for a SP cli on the Freedom. The order you do it in is important though, and if you ask for a CLI on freedom prior to app'ing for CSP, you're less likely to get it because we dunno what chase's internal exposure limit is.
even your credit profile now given the datapoints would prob be an instant approval, BUT you might get a 10-20k limit if you build a little bit with the freedom as opposed to a 5k limit on CSP that you'll have to maybe take a hard pull for later on for a CLI. hope that makes sense.
Great work! :-) ymmv but this is based on my experience(s) with chase over like 16 years haha
PS: you only get the CSP SUB with a new account, so remember that if a PC is something you like
Congratulations on your Approval!
