Life drama:
Okay, so I had an atrocious credit score for the past few years. I burned every credit card company that approved me when i was in university. Few months ago I had to look my self in the mirror and face the reality of my situation and who I truly want to be seen as.
The conclusion i came to is, with the way I currently am and have been, I wouldn't even lend my self money.
I burned amex, barclays, chase, capital one numerous times, and even low tier banks like merrick.
In March 24, i applied for a checking account with chase with a sign up bonus. I had low hopes because i applied for their checking account before and they declined me. Someway somehow they approved me. I then opened a Discover secured card. By the end of march i contacted the collectors and started to pay them to delete. By the end of april i closed out every collection and had 1 account left, an amex card. I reached out to them and decided to pay them in full. FICO 8 score avg across 3 was 565 in March, in May the lowest was 685 and highest 715.
Today i was checking my accunt on the chase application and saw a pre approval for 4 different cards. I was hesitant but eventually in few hours I said f it, whats the worst that could happen. I applied and got the "We need more time to review your Chase Freedom Unlimited® credit card request". I called multiple chase numbers and most of them where unhelpful. Until 30 minutes ago i called this number (800) 278-8830. They asked me to verify my identity then asked to place me in hold to process my application, unfortunately line disconnected during that hold and i had to call again. The new rep asked same questions and then told me someone else is currently handling your applications so there is nothing she can do and i have to wait for their response in the mail. I was bummed.
2 minutes later I got an email with approval and card appears in my chase app. As mentioned in title i got approved for the lowest limit chase has to offer for this card $500.
A little frustrating but its better than a denial. At least i am in the eco system now?
Long story short i am extremely thankful for everyone that contributes to this forum.
I know this is an embarrassing credit limit to some, but, i will try staying patient and hope for a CLI soon, at least i am in again after bruning them in the past.
Approval details:
Scores: 686 Ex | 698 Eq | 705 Tu
Bureau pulled: Experian
Credit amount: $500
Congrats! Hopefully just an early step in a long and properous journey.
You gotta start somewhere!
congratulations!
Congrats!

Congrats!!! You'll work your way up, one step at a time.
A massive congratulations to you. I'm sure with time and responsible card use, you'll be able to re-grow your relationship with Chase. Wishing you all the best on your rebuild.
Congrats and as mentioned you are turning around your credit and paying for delete or paying them back to get back in with them. Granted they will always have internal records and some such as Barclay's likely will never take you back others will such as AMEX that you paid back in time. Enjoy the card.
It's an old expression and I don't even know what it means, but I think it's good:
You've got moxie, kid.
Your story gives me hope that one day I'll be in with Chase.
best of luck
