Hi everybody,
My credit score was so horrible 3 yearsyear ago. My score was in the mid 500s. I wouldn't even dare to apply for anymore credit cards just because I got denied so many times and I was too ashamed of my credit when they tell me NO. Little did I know, I've started to read up on credit and educated myself how they work. First I have to thank Merrick bank for giving me a chance. I got their card with the initial CL of 1000 to jump start my project. I paid all my bills on time and never late. Slowly I got 3 credit line increased from them to 1600 now. During this time, I applied for 1st Premier card and was approved for 700 CL but my APR was off the chart. 36% with a lot of annual fee and set up fee. Once again I paid my bills on time and was never late. Ten months ago I applied for Credit One cars and was approved for a CL of 300. I continued to be responsible and onetime.
2 days ago I was approved for a 0 down 0% APR on a brand new 2014 Toyota Rav4 Limited Edition I couldn't be more stoked.
Today I went to a Chase bank and applied for a Chase Freedom card. I got approved for 3000 CL. Holy cow I've never thought I'd get approved. And talk about 3000 CL. It's unreal. It's 0% interest for the first 15 months then 18.99 after. It has cash back feature.
then when we were finishing it up, my banker suggested I should open a Chase Slate card because I mentioned I'd like to do couple Balance transfer from my other cards and close them out. So bam I did a quick application and I was approved for another Chase Slate card with CL of 3200. It's 0 fee for balance transfer 0% APR for first 15 months.
I'm so excited and I'm so grateful for a chance to rebuild my credit. I don't what my FICO scores are but when I applied I have:
Experian Plus Score: 742
Equifax Advantage and Score: 668
TransUnion Vantage Score: 762
CreditKarma: 687
CreditSesame: 723
Grats on your Freedom & Slate ![]()
Congrats! Welcome to the forum and thanks for sharing.

I would close those Credit one and First premier cards when you get the chance to stop paying those Fees ![]()
Thank you everybody. Yes as soon as my balance transfers go through I will close my 1st Premier and Credit One cards. Their fees and their APR are out of this world but it's served its purpose to rebuild credit so well worth it. I will keep my Merrick card though to repay their favor for helping me out when nobody else did.
i just can't wait for my new chase cards in 2 days ![]()
