Just wanted to share my experience I just had with Chase. I burned them back in 2009 for about $3k and it just fell off a couple months ago. Last night I decided to apply for a Freedom Card and got the 7-10 day message. Based on advice from other posts, I decided to call the recon line. The guy who answered was very friendly and stated the application was declined due to bankruptcy (discharged in March 2011), but he would be happy to take a look at the application. He put me on hold for about 5 minutes and then verified my employment and income information followed by a couple questions (why did you file for bk, how long do you have left on your student loans, when do you expect to pay off you credit cards). After I answered the questions, he said he would send it off for approval at $500. I was surprised that he didn't even ask about my former Chase account. I won't get too excited until I get the actual card in the mail though.
Moral of the story, always recon folks!
Congrats!
Welcome to MyFico and congrats on your approval..
Congrats
Nice Job!!
Welcome and congrats!!! I too had to recon for my CSP.
Congrats on the successful recon! I have a similar story to yours, I burned chase for about $4k in 2010 and was declined when I app'd for the Southwest card a couple of weeks ago. I called to recon and the analyst was very friendly and helpful. I didn't get approved, but she definitely hinted that I would have a shot at approval once the chargeoff falls off.
Thanks! You guys are so friendly!
Great!! congrats!!
