Hi everyone, I just wanted to post my recovery stories since my BK7 back in 2013. I recently applied and was denied credit for the Chase Marriott Premier Card. As was the case in the past it was specifically for my BK. I had a lease that Chase got burned on in the BK. I called the recon and discussed with the CS rep my sitation and why I had to file BK and so on. All in all it was maybe 10mins on the phone and she recommended an approval and got my approved for 10k limit. It was pretty easy and painless. My FICO is 725 and the BK was an isolated incident so not sure if that played a part in it. My hope is that I can rebuild my relationship with Chase and turn this card to the Sapphire Reserve after a year or so. Currently my inventory of cards is the Barclays Arrival + with 13k limit, CapOne Venture with 40k limit, AU on Amex business plat. Hopefully Citi takes me off their blacklist one of these days so I can round out my cards with the Prestige.
Wanted to add to my story... Tried for the Chase Sapphire Reserve and Citi Prestige to try and press my luck... Obviously I got denied for both. Called recon for Citi and they stated since I had a BK on my credit report there was no way they could override it. Call chase again thinking that since they approved my recon on the Marriot card they would deny my Reserve. Thank god I was wrong. They asked the same questions, checked out my mortgage history with them, and approved me for an initial 10k. Thumbs up for Chase recon again!
