Congratulations on your limit increase! Thank you for sharing!

Do you or does anyone else reading this know if Chase will do a counter offer if you ask for more than they're willing to give you?

X2, congrats on the increase!

I don't think anyone has asked for an amount high enough to determine if they'll counter offer.  Usually if you call they don't even ask how much you want, and they'll give you whatever they're willing to give.  If you don't tell them in the SM how much you want, they'll do the same.

But if you ask for more than they're willing to give, I don't know if they would just give you what you'd be approved for, or would just reply back saying "we can't give you what you asked for"... maybe in that case you can ask them to counter, or offer a lower amount, or just say "thanks but no thanks"... we won't know until someone has this happen and they report here about it.

@CreditMarathoner  Thank you so much for this info! I appreciate it!

My guess is their system would say something like we can't approve you for 20k..but how about 15k. But this is just a guess completely. This would definitely be good to know.. I'm sure that'll happen, and if not, maybe in a few months I'll go asking for like 15k and see what they say for science 😄

Also will be good to know how often we can request these SP Cli. Every 6 months I suppose to be safe after receiving one.

@Chazzay12  Thank you! Definitely will be cool if they do a counter offer like some other banks do!  I'd also think 6 months is a good amount of time to wait between requests if your increase was approved!  I've read posts on here of someone getting increases on 3 Chase cards at once by calling in.  Would be interesting if that means you can also stagger requests without waiting 6 months to increase other cards yet to get increased.
