Back in April, I got an email from Chase with a preapproval for the Sapphire Preferred. It was an 80K + $50 grocery store credit SUB, but this was right after I was approved for the Citi AA Executive (which has a 50k miles after $5k spend within 3 months SUB). I knew fairly well that I had no intention to spend $9k within three months, so I didn't log into Chase to accept the preapproval.
2 months later, another preapproval email from Chase came through with the brand new 100,000 points offer. I accepted the preapproval and I was approved for $7.7k at 22.99% APR. I am already done with the Citi AA Executive SUB (which is all paid off, as well). With 2 trips with multiple people coming up in July, the $4k spend on the CSP won't be hard to do. Chase only pulled Experian (which by the website is currently sitting at 690, but I'll update this post if it's different when the card comes in).
