Hi everyone,
It's been a crazy day! I was feeling lucky today so I decided to call Chase to do a CLI for my 9-month old Chase Freedom card. After asking about my salary and stuff, the representative told me that my request was declined...I was pretty sad.
Then I went on FB and saw that Chase is cutting down the sign-up bonus in half for the Chase Sapphire Reserve card very soon. My credit score is in the low 700s with only 1.4 years of credit history so I thought there was no way they would accept me. I can't even get the CLI increase for the Chase Freedom. But for some reasons, I had a good feeling about it so I decided to apply for the card anyway. Of course, my application was pending.
After searching around for the reconsideration number, I called Chase and asked if there was anything that I can provide to expedite the process. The analyst confirmed a few things on my application and after three long minutes, he came back and said that my application was APPROVED with a $12,000 credit line. Unbelievable!!
Yup, I'm not sure how I got approved but I'm super excited for this card!
Congrats on getting a great benefits card not to mention the bonus

Wow!! I'm so jealous.. Congrats on the approval..
Really want that card.. I'm about to put through 5K of charges in the next 5 months. The CSR with that bonus would have helped. Darn 5/24!
What was your CL on the Freedom btw? Do share your data points.
Congrats on the approval OP. And just FYI--there's a lot of talk on this forum that it's easier to get approved for a new card with Chase than trying to get a CLI on an existing card--and your experience is proof that it's likely true!
To erick_mac1003: My current Chase Freedom's CL is 10k
sweeeeeeeeet! enjoy. by the way, Chase sux at CLI's.

+1 to that.. Analyst grilled me and eventually giving me only 1K upped and an HP.
I don't even know the future of my Chase FU.
I've been banking with them for the past 8 yrs.

That is not so bad either.. I was thinking you needed the CLI badly because you have CL around 1k - 3K.
Again.. Congrats!!
I applied last night, got the 7-10 days message and called got the "you're application is pending message" . This morning I called the recon line with out even logging into my chase checking account and the rep told me I was approved for 10K with out having me have to verify any extra info. I was shocked. This is my first Chase Card. and why am I shocked? I just started rebuilding my credit around January 16th of last year. Right now my Fico Scores are 641 - Equifax, 700TU, and 667 Experian. They were a little higher last month(660, 710, and 678) But god **bleep**, did not expect to get approved at all for this card. So anybody on the fence about this because of their low credit score, give it a shot!
