Hey all,
Just ended a long gardening period (close to 3yrs maybe?).... I wanted the Chase Sapphire Reserve card and was hesitant because I kept reading how they don't like giving you your highest limit, how you need to have other cards with over 10k limit, etc. I have exactly 1 card over 10k, but I was also not pre-approved for anything on Chase. I applied using the "Because you are a current customer" option and was approved within seconds for 26.5k CL. Did it today, and already got alerts showing Chase pulled Experian and TU, Fico8 scores are 732 and 787 respectively. This is my 5th card with Chase (4 older ones all have $0 balance, CLs of 1k, 1k, 3k, and 5k), I also have 2 checking accounts and 1 savings account with Chase. Other CC include amex 7k, BoA 5.5k, Discover 13k, and CapOne 6k. Current overall utilization is reporting more current at TU at 5%, and Experian is still showing about 13%. Experian also has an old collection account reporting from 2016.
My old Chase cards have never ever seen any CLI, and I always avoided requesting one because I didn't want the hard pull; honestly I didn't think Chase liked me for high limits. One of these accounts is 5yrs old, and the others are 12yrs old. Looks like I shouldn't have shied away from asking for the CLI! I'm now itching to go request CLI for the other accounts, they've been stale for so long!
Just wanted to share because I know there are questions about credit limits for this card.... Anyways, good luck with your app!
