Well, I was sorta bummed that I wasted a hardcpull with my US Bank Altitude Connect app, given my recent inquiries and new accts. So I said to myself what's another inquiry gonna do since I'm already at 7 for EX. I called up Chase to see if I was eligible for an increase on my CSR. The CSR agent said it would be hp which was fine with me. To my surprise, I was granted a 9K cli bringing my limit to 29K. I didn't get any alert from EX so I'm thinking they used the same hp when they denied my United app 3 weeks ago. Is that typical of Chase?

Assuming they used the previous hp, FiCO 8 scores were slightly better by 10-20 points. My UTI was at 1% then and I was practicing AZE0. I BT'd about 1700 from my CSR to my BofA so I wonder if that factored into it although this was just processed yesterday. I've never spent anywhere near the limit on this card but I typically put heavy usage in Dec, Jan and Feb so I'm sure they could see use. Spent maybe a total of 6-7K last year and have spent over 2K this calendar year.

Congratulations on the CLI approval. And no, I don't think it's typical at all of Chase to use the same HP from 3 weeks earlier.

I'm totally expecting the hp to show up later on but let's see. Maybe a miracle can happy. 😁

Re: Chase Sapphire Reserve cli 20K to 29K

I hope they keep it that way. But I think they'll be keeping an eye on me the next 3-4 months bc I opened 2 new accts this month with high sl's. I'll keep doing what I've done and try not to deviate.  It's so interesting how some lenders demand high spend from one target vs permitting little to modest from others - as their way of determining credit allocation. I'd love to understand how the algorithm comes to these decisions. I'm pretty sure the UW who too my request just typed it all in the comp.

@nytokyobred79  absolutely in agreement with the sentiment. However I'll add that Chase is also not the "Nervous Nellie" type of lender in my experience. Once they open up the floodgates, they tend to stay open. Solid lender and not prone to freaking out at the simplest changes, some naturally occurring over time in any profile.  Don't let it spoil your weekend.  😉

Thanks for the insight. I may sometimes read much into other's genuinely tough experiences and just assume it applies to all. And you made such a good point- people add new accts/have profile changes all the time. I'm traveling in Asia for work so I will enjoy some sake in Tokyo and give the CSR the swipe 😂
