We're taking our daughter to Italy for her high school graduation trip and the best flight options were United. We had a bunch of UR points through our CSR but noticed there was a discounted rate for United cardholders. Checked Chase pre-approval and was pre-approved for the United Explorer with 70k mile SUB plus an extra 10k miles for adding an AU.
Got approved for $50k SL. I was 1/24 at the time of applicaton with a reported score of 818. We don't fly United often so I'll probably close it next year after the AF hits. Thankfully the AF is waived the first year so we'll easily see $1000+ in value for spending $3k in organic spend.
Excellent SL for Chase. I closed my Explorer card last year after finally using up most of my miles. P2 still has an Explorer card, so we can pool our remaining miles and still receive the discounted rate.
That's some great timing. And good find on getting the discount for the new card. $1k bonus will be nice, but knowing you can easily can a brand new 50k SL. Sheesh!

It's now added to my Chase app and Apple wallet. I was kinda surprised by the SL too but I'm still at less than 1/2 our stated income.
Congrats on the strong approval!
That's a very strong approval. Congrats and enjoy the trip to Italy
