@taxi818 wrote:Hello all. I went on kind of a spree last week. As I was buying a new car. Figured since this is it for 2 years. May as well get everything out of my system. Got my new used cpo Chrysler 300 yesterday. Will create another thread.
but applied last week for ebates. Amex everyday. And the chase Marriott. Ebates 5k. Amex everyday. Denied yesterday. Chase showed up this morning. 5k. When I applied got the 30 day message. I called but they wanted to transfer me to lending. So based on experience from other fico members. I hung up. Before the transfer.
I apped a week ago. Showed up today. Thanks all for your help. As usual kudos to all fico members
Great job dude. I've been following your posts for a while. You are climbing up the ladder. Keep it going!
Thanks so much. However i think im done for a while
After getting my new ride wednesday this is what most of this was for. Im just thinking 22 months ago. i was at a 551 fico
Now about 160k in limits mostly prime time and my new ride, No money down. 5.99% apr which is ok since ive not had a car loan in many years. 80% of the success coming from other members teaching and correcting bad information.
Good for you. You can always refinance in the future to a much lower rate. I started out in Feb '13 with a 24% interest rate (FICO was 500, or 490 back then). Now I just refinanced a new car I purhcased and cut the rate from 6.8% with toyota to 3.75% with my credit union. Just keep plugging away one move at a time. Your an expert in this now. Just like the rest of us. We all learn from each other and the networking on here. Keep playing the game to your advantage!
Yikes. Where did you get the loan? Louie the Loan Shark?
Santandar. I had all negative items on my report at that time. Not one credit card. I'm lucky they even gave me a loan. But I am proof you can come back from the depths. With hard work and perseverance, anything is possible. But knowledge is also key.
@taxi818 wrote:Anyone know how long i should wait to recieve the card now? it is exactly 1 week since i apped and it just showed up online today. I see it is Visa Signature as well. Also, Just Noticed that the apr is 15.99 percent for everyone? there is not grace or promo 0% on this card. hmm. i need to learn how to rack up marriott points i guess for a few free hotel rooms. no AF for first year then $85 each year. But im only getting 50k miles after 2k spend in 3 months. was looking for the 80k offer. Guess i did not get it.
APR is standard on this card, but it's a rewards card so APR is really irrelevant as you wouldn't want to carry a balance on it anyway.
You should have called in as soon as you were approved to have the card expidited. I just told them I had some travel plans and they expidited shipping right away for free. Same thing for the 80k offer. I found a link for the offer to apply through, but if you call in they will usually match the offer for you once you meet the spend.
Congrats!! It's a sexy card.
Hey Taxi, I pulled the trigger on Marriott Rewards again after mulling it over for a bit. I was denied back in early August and was denied after calling lending, but app'd again tonight. I received the pending message when I app'd. I'm going to let this one play out like you did and let you know how it turns out. Hope all is well.

check app status line. IF it says two weeks that is a good sign.

Disregard. I found the # in the backdoor section. It says they are reviewing my application and will notify me in writing within 7-10 business days of a decision.
Is that good, or bad news?

That usually means a denial but still wait it out before calling

You could call the number on your Chase Slate card after Underwriting is closed and ask the regular customer service what the status is and they'll tell you.
