I'm excited to say that I was approved for one of my goal cards! Citi approved me for $7,700 on this card, which makes it the highest limit card by a whole $200! I'm excited to experience premium AA experiences (did somebody say Admiral's Club?) and pass them along to my friends and family as authorized users. I have 2 trips planned for this Summer (with both being on AA metal), which was the main reason for applying (along with the mentality that I was going to be spending more than $5k over the next three months to meet the sign-up bonus requirements).
Here's some data points:
Income: $32k
Rent: $0
Equifax (HP'd): 720
UTIL: 30%
AAoA: 2 years, 0 months
Inquiries (Equifax): 0 (now 1)
Accounts opened: 2 (now 3) last 12 months
Student Loans: ~$7,000 (deferred; in school)
Car Note: $7,800 ($230/month)
I've got 80k miles right now (thanks Citi AA Plat Select) and I'm saving up for business/first to and from Sydney, Melbourne, Nadi, or Tokyo and flying economy/driving to the other three cities while I'm out there. Next card up is going to be the Barclay's Red Aviator. I'll upgrade the Red to the Silver, take my Int'l trip and probably downgrade the Executive (due to income). AMEX BCP is going to get downgraded to BCE when it comes due in December, while Citi / AA Plat Select will stay as my daily driver after the $5k spend req. on the Executive is met. I'm super humbled and stoked to make it to this card and can't wait to use the benefits!
