Figured i'd try for a credit limit increase on my year old Citi Simplicity.
The initial limit on my card was $6000
It dropped to $5800 because I moved $200 to make my Double Cash balance an even $3000
Just did a SP CLI increase and was instantly approved for a $1600 increase to $7400 ![]()
I don't really use this card anymore, but an increase is great because it will help my utilization percentage ![]()

Thats great, how long you waited prior this SP CLI? I am still waiting for mine. I don't want to waste another HP for a CLI.
I waited a year. You can look on the Citi website and it will tell you under the online credit line increase section whether your pull will be SP or HP. You can also counter with a higher limit if you want to try your luck after getting approved.

Congratulations on your CLI! ![]()
Normally you have to wait for 6 months.
Congrats on the CLI!
Congratulations!

They seem to be lenient about this.
I called them one time to request a CL increase (last time was over a year ago). They did an instant check and I was denied. The following week I called again and explained I should be eligible (I have a 809 FICO and been paying off balance every month). They put me on hold to speak with a "credit specialist" and came back saying they can run it again.
I ended up getting a $11k CL (from $5.5K) instantly. Both were SP.
